Project Ideas: May 2009 Archives

Submitted Question:

I noticed you use a video flag animation during your pledge segment.  Can you tell me where that came from, and how can I get more video animations like that too?  Can those video animations be used for v-screen backgrounds too?

They sure can!  We love the animations from ActionBacks and they have priced them beginning at only $49 per volume.  They've got over 30 volumes and growing all the time, we use their stuff for backgrounds too.  They even made a bunch that are themed for schools.  You can mix and match too for package discounts, and they ship content on CD-Rom, USB Flash drives, hard drives, and even downloadable.

See all details HERE and special coupon code of ROBZ when checking out gets you an extra 10% discount.

A friend referred me to this website from an Adobe Visual Communicator in Sweden.  Even though the site is not in english, it has plenty of helpful pictures that prove just how simple your studio can be (kitchen, basement, classroom, you name it!)

SchoolTube ran a student video competition this spring, and a bunch of our students participated with 30-60 second PSA's (public service announcements).  These were quite good and were a great learning experience for both my students and myself!

Students just finished up a new project addition-- the "commercial parody" project.  The concept was to invent or innovate a fictional product and create a sales pitch informercial.  We studied the elements of advertising and thanks to the green screen capabilities of Visual Communicator, many of these stand out as believeable products!
