Mic Mixer Feeds into which camera?

Submitted Question:

I would like to use three cameras.  I am using an audio
mixer as suggested
.  Does the output from the mixer need to go to all three
cameras if we are switching between them?

Nope, you only need to connect the audio mixer's main output to ONE of your cameras, not all three.  This is unique because Visual Communicator lets you specify which camera it should pay attention to for microphone input.  Say you have 3 cameras connected, and mixer feeds into cam2.  You tell VC this under the Setup tab--Audio.  Choose cam2 as your mic source and you're all set.  It won't matter which camera is active at any given time, as VC will know to take mic audio from cam2 always...nice feature!

Remember too that you only need to take the left main out (mono) from the mixer into your camera's stereo input jack.  You MUST use an adaptor or cable to attempt this, so the computer sees a "simulated" stereo signal being fed.  The Hosa CMP-110 cable I recommend is just the ticket.

Hope that helps, let us know by submitting comments below!
