Welcome back to another edition of AskMrZshow.com
This is the show where we answer your questions related to greenscreen TV production using Adobe Visual Communicator.

Today's question comes from Jane in San Diego, California.  Jane writes, "What kind of lights do you recommend to light your greenscreen properly?"

Well, for years we've been quite happy using professional "softbox" lights.
These use compact fluorescent bulbs instead of a traditional halogen bulb.
The advantages to CFL bulbs are many.  For one, they consume a lot less electricity compared to traditional halogen bulbs.
This means You won't need to worry about tripping circuit breakers, because much less electricity is needed for this type of bulb.  Plus, these CFL bulbs are much more durable and last a very long time.

They don't get very hot temperature wise either so if you're in a room without air conditioning, it's not a big deal to leave them on for awhile.

The design of the lights make it very easy to setup and collapse anywhere you go.  If you know how to open and close an umbrella, then you already know how to setup these lights in seconds.

In fact, the standard 3-piece light set I recommend fits neatly in a small carry bag, making it easy to move your setup wherever you go.

Combine these lights with a popup portable greenscreen and you now have the ability to create a recording studio in any classroom, office, or even basement.

If you'd like to learn more about these professional softbox lights and greenscreen options, take a look at my Equipment Recommendations page on SchoolTVmadeEasy.com  Here you will find all of my recommendations for producing greenscreen video productions with Adobe Visual Communicator.
